Sofia Chepenik is a freshman lacrosse player at Clemson University. She is the fourth of four kids (one brother and two sisters), has two dogs, Sammye and Kobe, and she loves taking them to the beach.
During her freshman season, she leads all freshmen in goals and points scored and is slated to become the ACC Freshman of the Year. Her pre-collegiate accolades include being a three-time Team Captain and MVP of her high school, three-time Northeast Florida All-First Coast honoree, three-time All-American, two-time US Lacrosse All-American, US Lacrosse Jackie Pitts Award winner, and a Gait Top-20 All-Star in her senior year. She aspires to play for Team USA and one day become an NFL sideline reporter. Her goal throughout is to inspire and empower the next generation of female athletes.
She is a determined, strong-willed, and extremely competitive leader with high IQ and field vision who plays big, physical, and can use either hand. She loves going to lacrosse tournaments, the friendships she makes from playing, doing wall ball and tricks, singing, playing cards, and going to the movies. Sofia is excited about attending Clemson University in the fall of 2022 as part of their inaugural recruiting class and helping them win a National Championship.
