The former football player Rick Walker was born on May 28, 1955. He is renowned for his professional days in the National Football League with the Cincinnati Bengals and the Washington Redskins.
Early life and career
Walker had a normal high school like his fellow athletes. He attended Santa Ana Valley in California. He had been invested in football from a very young age. His efforts were recognized by many around him.
College career
In the 1977 NFL Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals picked him in the fourth round. He played for 3 seasons with them from 1977-1979, appearing in 31 games and starting three of them. Afterwards, he moved to the Washington Redskins in 1980 and was a big part of the team while winning Super Bowl XVII. After retiring, he became a radio sports commentator. Walker currently works for radio broadcasts in the Washington Metropolitan Area, hosting his own show on ESPN 980 and a weekly TV show called “Doc Walker’s ProView” on MASN. Previously, he was a color commentator for Westwood One’s college football broadcasts and the NFL, and also Raycom Sports’ main color commentator for ACC football games until 2010.
