The inspiring footballer, Lois Cook, was born in Silver Spring, MD. She was a Northern National Women’s Football Association (NWFA) player. Apart from that, she is currently a part of the Women’s Football Alliance league team, DC Divas.
Early Life and Career
From a very young age, Lois Cook loved to play football. She used to play with her brother and get very involved in the game. At her time, there were very few women in this field. She fought a great battle for herself to follow her passion. Lois attended Bethesda Chevy Chase High School in MD. Even though she went to play football for the school team, the coach turned her down.
College career
Lois enrolled at Clark Atlanta University, where she continued following her passion for football. She always dreamt of playing in the NFL and she kept working towards it throughout. Lois is considered an inspiration to many women who love football.
Watching her amazing performances, she was recruited as quarterback for the Atlanta Leopards, the Northern National Women’s Football Association team. From there, Lois started growing toward her dream.
After getting her degree, Cook moved back to Washington, where she grew up, and joined the D.C. Divas, a local professional football team for women. She now devotes her entire life to the game she adores.
Cook and her teammates are always fighting to get even a small amount of the attention that NFL players get.
She began working as an assistant football coach in 2021 at Bethesda Chevy Chase High School in Bethesda, Maryland. Lois has also made it her mission to encourage more young women to participate in high school tackle football through the Go Lois Foundation.
