Desiree Elmore is a rising star in women’s basketball and a key player for the Rhode Island Women’s Basketball team. Born and raised in Washington, D.C., Desiree developed a love for basketball at a young age and dedicated herself to the sport from a young age.
Early Life and career
Growing up, Desiree was always drawn to the fast-paced, competitive nature of basketball, and she quickly established herself as a dominant force on the court. Throughout her high school years, she honed her skills and became one of the top prospects in the D.C. area. Her hard work and natural talent earned her a scholarship to play basketball at Rhode Island, where she has made a significant impact on the program.
College career
After graduating, Desiree attended the Syracuse University. She became the only player in the BIG EAST Conference to rank in the Top-15 in all five major statistical categories: scoring 17.4, rebounding 9.1, assists 3.3, blocks 1.4 and steals 1. Desiree is a versatile guard who plays as a swingman. She is known for her quickness, agility, and ability to score from beyond the arc. Her sophomore season was especially impressive, as she finished the year as one of the top three-point shooters in the Atlantic 10 Conference, shooting a remarkable 42.6% from beyond the arc. Her shooting prowess and court vision made her a valuable asset. Currently, she has signed her professional basketball career at Switzerland.
In addition to her on-court success, Desiree is also highly regarded for her leadership and sportsmanship. She is a positive influence in the locker room, serving as a mentor and role model to her younger teammates. Her positive attitude and relentless work ethic have inspired many of her peers, both on and off the court. With her impressive skills, leadership qualities, and unwavering dedication, she is sure to continue making a positive impact on the field for years to come.
