Curtis Appleton is an American Football player and a thriving college football athlete. He was born on November 20, 1999, in Denver to parents Curtis and Regina Appleton. He has three sisters, Tiera, Tionna, and Ky, and one brother, Caleb. Curtis plays the piano and enjoys listening to music, playing video games, and watching football highlights in his free time. He is currently doing his majors in Sociology at Colorado while also pursuing four minors in Business, Communication, Ethnic Studies, and Leadership Studies. He wishes to play pro football in the future.
He played as an All-Conference player at Cherry Creek High School under CU All-American Dave Logan. He played running back and lettered as a sophomore and junior and moved to safety as a senior. Cherry Creek was 30-10 his three years on varsity and won its league championship all three years and was the Colorado State Champions his sophomore season in 2014. He also participated in Track & Field at Cherry Creek in the 200-meters and long jump.
In his previous years, he went to Washburn University and was on the roster at Washburn (Kan.). As a 2019 Sophomore, he played in four games on special teams — Air Force, Arizona State, Stanford, and Washington. He was named the Defensive Scout of the Week three times leading into the Nebraska, Air Force, and Stanford games. He had four solo tackles in the spring game. He also got a walk-on turned scholarship at the University of Colorado, which was possible due to his skill and dedication toward football.
At Colorado in 2020, he played in all six games, three on defense and all six on special teams, and saw his first action on defense against UCLA, Stanford, and San Diego State. He primarily played on the kick coverage but had no action on the punt return and field goal block units as part of the base defense.
